Home      56 Kellogg Hill
have to say that when I first saw this house I really didn’t get its potential.  The listing agent asked me to do an open house and I figured what the heck.  I’ve been back a couple of times since and the more time I’ve spent here, the more I am stunned at what this house has to offer. Make no mistake, the pictures are accurate.  The house is a bit dated (perhaps more than a bit.)  But what it lacks in “cosmetic upkeep” it more than makes up for with “good bones”.
Located in Weston, this house is over 4,000 square feet. It has 6 bedrooms (yes 6, that’s not a typo) and 5 baths.  And we’re not talking a rabbit warren of little cubbyhole rooms, we’re talking 6 good-sized bedrooms and 5 baths.  Although built in 1934, this house is the perfect layout for today’s standards.  A huge kitchen that has multiple food prep areas (including 2 sinks and 2 dishwashers) as well as a lovely windowed eating area that overlooks the property and another sitting area with a fieldstone fireplace.  The living room is the entire width of the house and has a wall of windows that overlooks a “secret garden” sitting area.  The family room is also quite large and has an original beamed ceiling.  With a gracious entry foyer, as well as a back mudroom that opens out to the in-ground pool and pergola, this house is immense!
And, to show the potential this house has when it’s updated, there is a brand new au-pair suite over the garage with its own kitchenette and bathroom.  Just lovely!
An attached 2-car garage, a large walk-out basement, a huge screened porch and a 3-acre property complete the picture all for just $839,000.  With a little vision and some elbow grease, you could ultimately have a property worth far more than the money you actually put into it.

Why is this the Gem of the Week?

This house has to be one of the best values out there.
A true "hidden" gem.
